Defence Housing Australia (DHA) enjoyed a magnificent, collaborative team building program specifically designed to enhance team spirit. Thrill team events main facilitator Konrad Lippmann took DHA through a contemporary warm up. Facing all points of the compass as DHA conference delegates set their strategic directions and paced the grounds of Dooralong Valley Resort.
DHA Matt Chambers NSW regional Manager selected the Thrill team to design a suitable team building package that would be challenging, fun and safe. Two team building activities TEAM Construct and Team Orienteering were merged. Developing team work, common goals and literally build a house from the materials collected around the Dooralong Valley Resort conference facilities and surrounding bushland. DHA's skills involve relocating ADF staff and in this case - once the DHA team constructed house was built - it was lifted and moved by the entire DHA team working in unison.
Defence Housing Australia (DHA) was established in 1987 to provide housing for members of the Australian Defence Force and their families. DHA provide a complete housing solution, offering property management and relocation services for their customers. Here DHA learned the art of navigation, completing a series of team building challenges utilising orienteering skills to collect construction equipment even with canoes.
As the deadline loomed, strategic planners pooled their resources, communicated their ideas to build under Michael's diagramatic solution process. The momentum gathered as pieces of the house jigsaw when from piping to roofing, framework to walls, doors and windows. 220 pieces, 100 DHA delegates, 1 magnificent team built house!
