The Accenture Centre of Excellence based at the University of Wollongong campus chose THRILL team building activities to run a Wollongong amazing race for the entire office in and around the best locations of Wollongong.
After a running start from the University of Wollongong campus, Accenture teams received their 1st fun Wollongong team building challenge at Stewart Park. Where communication skills with blind folded team mates were tested. Then down an amazing chase to Wollongong North Beach for sand sculpture activities reflecting their business values!
Teams dashed over to Wollongong Flagstaff Point light house, resting and discover more about each other in a creative team building art insight challenge - A very rewarding, fun and informative session for all.
Crowne Street, passing the Illawarra Steelers for a cultural food challenge testing the taste buds. Several more check points were accomplished in the Wollongong snakepit. Before teams made their way to the Amazing Race Pitstop in Wollongong University Campus for prizes and presentations reliving the glory of winning a sensational Wollongong Amazing Race Team Building event.

At almost 53 years old I was a little concerned it would be too active or too difficult but the hardest thing was getting my brain the function to remember what the puzzle looked like ! I felt so motivated and energised, I wish I could do it every quarter.I had a ball, it really made one face the adversities together, to encourage and support your team members and for those who were dragging the chains, they received so much encouragement they doubled their efforts because of the encouragement given. By the end of the morning we were all more aware of each other , not just as colleagues but as work mates, not just people who's only common denominator was the same work environment. One hiccup - oh the aching quads the next day - wow I am so glad we did it on a friday !
Thanks so much guys, I wouldn't have done anything differently - except the taxi cab as technically the red team won !!!!
Why did you choose this program for your team?
Lisa chose the program but I think having it Illawarra based was a big decider.
Did the program meet and/or exceed/satisfy your requirements?
We all bonded, in a competitive kind of way which was what they were after
Which part of the program was your teams favourite, Why? the portrait drawing as we all learned things about each other that may never have come out , and the sand sculpting - having done that in 40 years, too much fun .

Suggestions for improvements that could be made: I really enjoyed everything we did. There were opportunities for people to be as active or passive as they chose and it was good to get everyone in the team involved through your cajoling and reinforcing it was only with full team participation that points would be earned.

My fav part was the sculptures by the sea when we sculpted things in the sand.

We were after something that would bring us together as a department which was both team building and fun.

Yes, the event was better than what I thought.
Where everyone no matter what restriction they may have had we were all encouraged to have a go.
Which part of the program was your teams favourite? Sand sculptures as its feels good to get down and dirty.

3 hours of an Amazing Race team builidng in Wollongong, was just not enough when you are so much fun.
