The Swimming Australia paralympic team dived into the deep end by participating in a personal creative ART Rageous program as a dynamic component of their 2008 Beijing Paralympic preparations uniting in their team efforts.
The Paralympic Games (beginning 23rd August 2008) swim team training camp incorporated personal development sessions, pool training and the THRILL Art program at based at Rydges Hotel at Paramatta. The 4 day camp was designed to develop and focus the sights of these young athletes leading up to the Paralympic Games.
The THRILL Art Rageous program was specifically tailored round the Australian paralympic swim team values; motivation, respect, determination, mateship and patriotism.
It was an exceptional effort taking the Paralympian Swim team outside of their comfort zones. By challenging them to think about their values and portray them creatively in their artworks initially with individual input, layering others efforts and skills and then leading into a broad stroke team visually motivating success.
Australian Paralympic Swim Team head coach Brendan Keogh commented "the success of this program is an initial step to our success in Beijing- we will take this Trophy and artworks as a mark of our ambition and pass it around the team - The Art Works will be shared at key moments to draw further inspiration for the team"
