Thrill Amazing Race!

SCOPE:-
Virgin Mobile, a dynamic global mobile phone company required a Sales and Marketing two day offsite event. In conjunction with Assembly Productions they selected THRILL team events to facilitate an Amazing Race Pirate Treasure Hunt for over 70 participants around Gerringong. In assosciation with one of their key suppliers, LG, an inspiring day was enjoyed by all.

HOW:-
Arriving at the sumptuous Bellachara Boutique Hotel Gerringong delegates enjoyed a delicious pirate styled morning tea before being split into their pirating crews aboard the good ship Virgin (tragically bombed by Kingsford Smith's Southern Cross)

Post briefing, teams headed off at a competitive pace to towards the Werri beach Gerringong via a mastermind challenge to test intellectual capacity of the teams. On the beach, sling shots were fired off at targets determining team accuracy. At a later stage teams were armed with buckets and spades for a sand sculpting challenge. Interesting results reflecting Virgin mobiles aims and client relationships.

A sumptious picnic lunch by the breakers by the staff of Bellachara, with even time for a quick dip in the waves for a few, was enjoyed !

After digging up treasure on the beach it was over the hill to learn more about each other in an art challenge, where teams get to discover and describe more about their work mates - a popular and often revealing challenge. A refreshing break for afternoon tea got teams in a rope hand cuff challenge where team work and communication was the go, before escaping to the final destination. A refreshing drink at a local Ale house and a chance to open the locked treasure chest. In the end it came down to the 3rd team that managed the challenge in the time allocated and reveal the bounty that had been locked away!

With great weather and a fabulous location, teams certainly had a lot of fun and challenges. The final event being a pirate themed pool side dance party back at the Bellachara Hotel.

By all accounts, Virgin mobile was as "thrilled" as was I with the day.

Overwhelming sense of satisfaction - enjoyed being outdoors, seeing the sights, working together, learning about one another, interacting with the THRILL team.

Although they felt a little "pushed" at times during the course of the day, all pain and agony was soon forgotten over cold beers at the pub.
