Australian Defence Force Academy, 10 Division transferred from Canberra to Sydney's historic Victoria Barracks in Paddington. To participate in an Adventure Training Amazing Race around Sydney. Teams raced their way to Centennial Park for a team cycling challenge, where a display of smooth gear changing and exceptional pit crews in the transition had teams break into the lead! Division 10 sub teams made their way into the Sydney CBD for a range of teambuilding activities and challenges. Including the bizarre Sexy Sydney skit and a unique culinary experience.
All teams reconvened in at the Roadblock intersection outside the Darling Harbour Maritime museum for a Semaphore signalling challenge. It was at this stage that one team were given the opportunity to 'Yield' another team for 3 minutes. The last placed green team decided to 'Yield' the front running Red team.
Their 3 minute yield turned into a 15 minute delay, as the Red team went to run to cross the Pyrmont footbridge. The Pyrmont footbridge barriers descended and blocked the red teams approach, as the bridge was opening to let yachts through. The red team could do nothing but wait for the bridge to re-open. A true Amazing Race Yield!
Red team fought back from their yield, and at the end of the day were victorious, walking away with the coveted ADF 10 Division Amazing Race trophy!
