The Royal Australian Navy RAN FSU supported one another in a search of Garden Island and surrounds for a hidden & locked Treasure Chest.
RAN FSU teams lifted their jolly spirits and Harry's Cafe De'Wheels Treasure Hunted from Garden Island Woolloomooloo. Discovering local architecture, historical significance and the motivational fun of working together to discover treasures. Mrs Macquaries Chair alongside the Royal Botanical Gardens Sydney provided excellent vantage and new directions. With many teams echoing suprise of finding out about each other and their local environment.
Coordinator Lt Maloney reported excellent feedback on challenging teams to accomplish a significant goal together, whilst sharing a fun experience, lifting team morale and motivational levels.
Background on FLEET SUPPORT UNIT SYDNEY (FSU-S)
Fleet Support Unit Sydney is the Navy's uniformed maintenance activity ashore.
FSU-S conducts maintenance on the ships and submarines so that they can get on and do their job of fighting and winning at sea.
FSU-S is housed in several large workshops fitted with machinery, plant and tools. Workshops cover an extensive amount of real estate at Fleet Base East. FSU-S consists of sailors from backgrounds in Guided Missile Frigates, ANZAC Class Ships, Auxiliary Ships and Submarines. The people at FSU-S include Marine and Electronics Technicians and Bosuns Mate category personnel. Training and mentoring roles are enhanced by the inclusion of a Skills Development Centre.
