Explore. Connect. Achieve together.

A fresh setting for stronger staff connection

Tweed Heads brings together coastal scenery, the Tweed River and conference facilities beside the Queensland border. It suits an energising break from meetings, a purposeful staff event or the starting point for a wider Tweed retreat.

Choose a local activity to keep the day simple, or extend your brief to Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita Beach or the Tweed Valley. Thrill helps translate the setting into a practical experience: a clear welcome, a shared challenge and a finish that brings everyone back together.

Start with the outcome you want. New colleagues may need an easy way to connect. An established team might benefit from a communication challenge. A leadership group may want facilitated reflection and actions to take back to work.

Team bonding, charity projects & team development

These six directions give your brief a starting point. Combine formats where useful, or ask us to tailor one around your conference theme, company values and participants.

01 / EXPLORE

Amazing Race & Discovery Quests

Turn a local setting into a shared mission with clues, observation tasks and team challenges. Discuss a Tweed Heads route, a resort quest or a contained venue-based experience. We shape the pace and challenge mix around your group, with route access confirmed before the event.

Explore Amazing Race →
02 / ENERGISE

Survivor & Outdoor Team Challenges

Bring out teamwork through strategy, practical tasks and friendly competition. Suitable lawns or approved outdoor spaces can host a lively session with roles beyond speed and strength. Agree the physical demands and a weather alternative so more colleagues can take part confidently.

Explore Survivor →
03 / CONTRIBUTE

Charity & Sustainability Activities

Give your group a useful shared project. Discuss furniture, nesting boxes or another suitable build, with materials, quality checks and the intended recipient agreed beforehand. The result should serve a real need; recipient arrangements and handover are part of the brief.

Explore charity team building →
04 / CREATE

Big Picture Art & Creative Collaboration

Connect individual contributions in a shared artwork inspired by your values, conference theme or coastal surroundings. This offers a lower-impact way to involve different personalities. Plan the display or take-home arrangement so the finished piece has a place beyond the event.

Explore creative activities →
05 / CONNECT

Indoor Games & Conference Energisers

Lift the energy between presentations with hosted games, problem-solving tasks and short collaborative challenges. Indoor options help contain travel and support a weather backup. We work around room layout, available floor space and the point in the agenda when delegates need a reset.

Plan an indoor session →
06 / DEVELOP

Team Development & Leadership Sessions

Combine a practical activity with facilitated reflection on communication and working preferences. Ask about DiSC, MBTI or TMS with appropriately accredited practitioners. Allow time to turn observations into specific workplace actions when your brief calls for more than a social experience.

Three ways to bring it together

Build the event around your agenda

Use these suggested combinations to start the conversation. Timing, transfers and inclusions are agreed in your proposal.

The Tweed Heads conference reset

Move from the meeting room into a local quest or hosted indoor challenge, then regroup for a short celebration. Keep the program close to your conference base to maximise participation time.

Suggested window: 90 minutes to three hours, including briefing and wrap-up.

The coastal contribution

Pair a Kingscliff or Casuarina offsite with a charity build or collaborative artwork. Give colleagues a shared task, a visible result and time to reflect on how they worked together.

Planning priority: suitable workstations, materials and an agreed destination for the finished project.

The valley leadership escape

Combine a facilitated team-development session with a separately arranged creative experience or riverside celebration. Base the itinerary around one area to keep the day focused and avoid excessive transfers.

Suggested window: a half-day or a sequence across an overnight retreat.

Purposeful design. Personal facilitation.

Make the day meaningful for your people

A successful event needs more than a list of games. Thrill brings the activity, facilitation and practical planning together around your brief. Choose light-hearted team bonding, a purposeful shared project or a development session with a structured debrief.

Explore Thrill’s wider client feedback for insight into the facilitation experience. Then tell us what success should look like for your group, so the recommended format supports the way you want people to participate.

Local details that make a difference

Plan a smooth Tweed team event

Send your date, group size, venue, budget range and available time. Add the purpose of the event and any participation needs. We can then scope a format with clear inclusions and practical next steps.

Check routes, space and weather

Jack Evans Boat Harbour and the Tweed waterfront can inspire a local outdoor brief. Check current foreshore works, access, public-space permissions and conditions before fixing a route. Keep beach or river experiences separate from assumptions about swimming or water access.

Reserve an appropriate indoor alternative where needed. At hotels, confirm usable floor space, furniture moves, setup access and sound restrictions.

Keep cross-border timing clear

During NSW daylight saving, Tweed Heads is one hour ahead of neighbouring Coolangatta. Mark the time zone on invitations, transfers and the run sheet, and check each supplier’s operating time.

For delegates arriving through Gold Coast Airport, allow realistic transfer and arrival buffers. Wider Tweed Coast and valley itineraries need their own transport plan.

Design participation from the start

Tell us about mobility, sensory and fatigue considerations before the activity is selected. A seated creative task, lower-impact quest or varied team roles can help colleagues contribute in different ways.

Confirm access against the actual room or route. Cultural experiences should be arranged with appropriate local Aboriginal hosts, with their scope and availability agreed separately.

Agree what you will measure

Choose simple indicators before the day: participation, completed project items, participant feedback or agreed workplace actions. A short post-event question can measure whether colleagues felt more connected.

For development sessions, ask teams to nominate one action and review it after 30 days. These are evaluation options, not guaranteed performance improvements.

Helpful answers before you book

Tweed Heads team building FAQs

What team building activities are available in Tweed Heads?

Thrill can scope Amazing Race-style quests, Survivor challenges, charity builds, creative workshops, indoor games and facilitated team development. The final options depend on your venue, group, activity window and access requirements.

Can Thrill run an activity at our hotel or conference venue?

Share your hotel and meeting details so we can assess a suitable program. Twin Towns, The Sebel Twin Towns and the Kingscliff resorts are options to discuss. Private-space access, room setup, equipment and venue permission need confirmation for each booking.

Do you cover Kingscliff, Casuarina and the Tweed Valley?

Yes, these areas can form part of a tailored brief. They are separate locations from Tweed Heads, so allow for transfers and setup. Tell us where delegates are staying before choosing a venue or activity route.

What happens if it rains?

Agree an indoor or modified format during planning, including the decision time and any additional venue cost. A suitable conference room can support creative activities, games or a charity project, subject to space and equipment requirements.

How long should we allow for an activity?

As a planning guide, allow 30–60 minutes for a conference energiser, 90 minutes to three hours for a substantial activity, or a half-day for deeper team development. Briefing, transfers and the closing session should be included in the final schedule.

Can activities accommodate different fitness and mobility needs?

Discuss mobility, sensory, fatigue and participation needs early. We can consider seated, creative and lower-impact formats, different team roles and suitable routes. Accessibility is assessed against the actual venue and activity rather than assumed from the location.

Does Tweed Heads use Queensland time?

Tweed Heads is in NSW and is one hour ahead of Queensland during NSW daylight saving. Confirm each supplier’s operating time and label invitations and run sheets clearly. Some cross-border suppliers use Queensland time; Tweed Eco Cruises states that its bookings and operations use Queensland time.

How much does a Tweed Heads team event cost?

Request a proposal based on your group size, date, venue, duration and activity choice. Ask for facilitation, equipment, travel, GST, venue charges and optional supplier experiences to be itemised. Use the experience planner for a detailed brief or the contact page for a quick quote.
